On October 23, 2025, Da Nang witnessed a forward-thinking gathering of innovators and industry leaders at the “Blockchain x AI – Building Trust, Driving Efficiency in the Digital Era” seminar, co-hosted by Ekotek and SotaTek.

The event brought together experts and entrepreneurs to explore how Blockchain and Generative AI (GenAI) are transforming digital ecosystems, moving beyond hype to create tangible business and social value.

Redefining Trust in the Digital Economy

Redefining Trust in the Digital EconomyMr. Mike Mai, CTO of Ekotek, led the session “Navigating Vietnam’s Digital Asset Landscape: Applications & Live Demo” with a powerful message: in today’s digital economy, trust is the new currency.

As interactions between businesses, users, and machines grow increasingly decentralized, blockchain has emerged as a Technology of Trust, a shared, tamper-proof ledger that ensures transparency and authenticity across every transaction.

Through his presentation, Mike highlighted 3 key insights shaping Vietnam’s blockchain future:

  • From Currency to Infrastructure: The global focus has shifted beyond cryptocurrency speculation to real-world asset tokenization (RWA) and enterprise adoption. Blockchain is becoming the backbone for finance, supply chain, and logistics, with the global market forecast to exceed USD 1.4 trillion by 2030.
  • Vietnam’s Strategic Momentum: With over 20% of citizens owning digital assets, Vietnam stands at the forefront of blockchain adoption in Asia.
  • Policy as a Catalyst: New frameworks such as the Law on Digital Technology Industry mark a breakthrough, officially recognizing digital assets as property, paving the way for innovation under legal clarity.

From Whiskey to the Web: Blockchain in Action

Digital authenticityTo make blockchain’s potential tangible, Ekotek showcased a live demo of its “Whiskey Digital Twin” project, an end-to-end supply chain solution using IoT sensors and blockchain to ensure product authenticity from distillation to the consumer’s hands.

Each whiskey bottle is paired with:

  • A secure NFC tag acting as an anti-tamper seal.
  • A Digital Twin (NFT) that records provenance and ownership history.
  • Smart contracts enforcing compliance (e.g., verifying aging periods).

Beyond authenticity, the system powers loyalty programs, exclusive memberships, and a secondary trading market for collectors. As Mike highlighted, “Authentication is just the entry point, what we’re really building is a trusted digital economy.”

Generative AI: From Experimentation to Implementation

Generative AI eraIn the second keynote, Mr. Louis Luu, AI Lead at SotaTek, explored the GenAI era: Opportunities vs Challenges, unpacking how Generative AI (GenAI) is redefining creativity, productivity, and governance across every industry.

His session distilled three key insights:

  • GenAI Everywhere: Every major sector now has production-ready GenAI pilots. The shift from experimentation to integration is accelerating, 49% of SMEs have already embedded GenAI into core strategy.
  • Da Nang’s AI Momentum: As Vietnam’s national AI and semiconductor hub, Da Nang exemplifies how triple collaboration between government, academia, and business can turn innovation into impact, integrating AI across healthcare, tourism, logistics, and education.
  • Balancing Innovation with Responsibility: While GenAI unlocks massive potential, Louis highlighted the need for ethical governance, data privacy, and upskilling initiatives to mitigate personal, business, and societal risks, ensuring that AI benefits are shared equitably and sustainably.

Then Gen AI tech stackFrom Bias to Practice: A Panel on Real-World Adoption

The highlight of the afternoon was the panel discussion “From Bias to Practice”, where experts and business leaders explored how to move from experimentation to execution, turning emerging technologies into practical value.

Key discussion points included:

  • Blockchain’s selective application: identifying when decentralized trust is truly needed
  • Responsible AI adoption: balancing innovation with governance, data ethics, and workforce upskilling to ensure sustainable, human-centered growth.
  • Cross-sector collaboration: connecting technology providers, regulators, and enterprises to bridge the gap between concept and value creation.

From Bias to Practice: A Panel on Real-World AdoptionAdding a policy perspective, Mr. Vo Duc Anh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center, shared how government initiatives are paving the way for enterprises to adopt frontier technologies.

The discussion not only shed light on Vietnam’s readiness for large-scale blockchain and AI adoption but also inspired new collaborations across sectors, reflecting the innovative, forward-looking spirit driving Da Nang’s and Vietnam’s digital economy.

Looking Ahead

As both speakers emphasized, the convergence of Blockchain and AI represents more than a technological trend, it’s a strategic foundation for the digital economy.

The event closed with a lively networking session where startups, developers, and investors exchanged ideas, laying the groundwork for future partnerships that will turn emerging technologies into real-world value.
